The enamel on this brooch has been made by layering finely ground enamel with very small graduations of colour, it is the most time consuming kind of enamelling that I do and enjoy. It is finished off after the final firing by grinding down the surface and then hand polishing it back to a soft marble-like sheen. the cloisonne wire is copper, the setting is sterling silver and the stones is a pale purple flourite.

The Setting is fabricated in sterling silver and is hallmarked on the back it has been patinated to a dark grey black to give an aged effect.
