The enamel on this brooch has been made by layering finely ground enamel with very small graduations of colour, it is the most time consuming kind of enamelling that I do and enjoy. It is finished off after the final firing by grinding down the surface and then hand polishing it back to a soft marble-like sheen. the cloisonne wire is copper, the setting is sterling silver and the stones is an emerald.

The Setting is fabricated in sterling silver and is hallmarked on the back it has been patinated to a dark grey black to give an aged effect.
