the face on this pendant has been made by layering finely ground enamel with very small graduations of colour, it is the most time consuming kind of enamelling that I do and enjoy. I cant remember how many layers of enamel were fired but it was more than 15. It is finished off after the final firing by grinding down the surface and then hand polishing it back to a soft marble-like sheen. the cloisonne wire is 22ct gold, the setting is sterling silver and the stones are emeralds

The Setting is fabricated in sterling silver and is hallmarked on the chain which is a sterling silver belcher chain with a handmade toggle and ring clasp. The pendant and chain have been patinated to a dark grey black to give an aged effect.
