Barn owls come in a huge range of colours, some are almost cream all over and some quite dark with rusty patches and blues and greens, which makes Barn Owls a lot of fun to enamel. The majority of the enamelling is done using the cloisonne technique on a copper base, after about 10 or 11 firings I then add gold leaf and a touch of enamel paint and then fire it for a final time.

This one is set in a 22ct bezel on sterling silver and has a little emerald with a gold blob that hangs next to it.
