Badger ring with gold wires
Badger ring with gold wires
This little badger has been fired using a gas torch with 22ct gold cloisonne wires. The type of wire you use for cloisonne has a big influence on the look of the finished enamel, copper wire works more like a pencil line with lighter coloured enamel, and becomes more subtle against darker colours. Silver wire becomes almost invisible with lighter colours and creates beautiful boundaries, and then when put next to darker colours becomes a bright line. And gold, is always magical but so pricey that each cm you use needs to be justified. I’ve set the badger in a sterling silver setting with an oak leaf on the ring band. the ring band is adjustable and is set at an R at the moment but can be sized up or down a few sizes, let me know your size and I’ll adjust it for you. My garden was overrun by badgers last year so I had plenty of time to watch them rumbling around. I’ve oxidised the silver on this one.
It is hallmarked on the band.
